Virtustream, EMC Federation extend partnership with SAP

Virtustream, the enterprise-class cloud provider and its parent, EMC Federation, today announced an expanded partnership with SAP  revolving around the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud. Customers can now choose to deploy SAP software around the globe via SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud using Virtustream’s cloud environments.

“This expanded partnership is a significant milestone for Virtustream and SAP,” said Rodney Rogers, CEO for Virtustream.

The service leverages Virtustream’s xStream Cloud Management Platform and its Micro-VM technology to deliver an IaaS with Service Level Agreements covering application performance. The platform includes an application automation framework that allows customers to schedule and perform advanced management and orchestration tasks across SAP software-based enterprise landscapes.

Virtustream’s chip-to-compliance security architecture provides systems security, data protection, and governance and compliance capabilities.

Meanwhile, The EMC Federation, today announced the following:

  • VMware has enhanced its vCloud Air Disaster Recovery Services. Disaster Recovery OnDemand will add a pay-for-what-you-consume pricing option, and Site Recovery Manager Air is a new software-as-a-service offering that will provide a comprehensive management offering for designing, testing, executing and orchestrating centralized business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • VMware vCloud Air Object Storage, powered by EMC,  a portfolio storage services for unstructured data, and will be integrated into VMware vCloud Air OnDemand Platform.
  • The launch of a new “Federation Ready” partner credential program and a new Federation End-User Computing Solution aimed at driving the complexity out of deploying and maintaining Virtual Desktop Infrastructures (VDI)
  • An expansion of the VxRack rackscale system with a new offering based on VMware software. This new persona of VxRack enables IT organizations to deploy Hybrid Cloud infrastructure based on a VMware software-defined architecture.
