NORDX/CDT, a subsidiary of Cable Design Technologies (CDT) Corp. and Chicago, Ill.-based iTRACS Corp. today announced they have signed a strategic agreement.
Under terms of the deal, NORDX/CDT of Pointe-Claire, Que. will license, manufacture, market and distribute the company’s Intelligent Structured Cabling Management Systems.
The software monitors the hardware to self-discover the network topology in data centers, communications rooms and wiring closets; automatically detects both authorized and unauthorized changes; utilizes patent-pending technology to quickly pinpoint wiring trouble spots; alerts IT staff to problems via alarms, e-mails, pages, user-defined scripts and/or photos; and issues work orders or trouble tickets to initiate corrective action.
All iTRACS circuitry is isolated from the network, ensuring that the system does not impact data flow or network performance.
"The impact of LANs (Local Area Network) on enterprises is growing year after year; the emergence of applications such as IP Telephony make these LANs simply mission critical", said Marc Laporte, vice-president of sales and marketing for NORDX/CDT.
"Recognizing these technology shifts, NORDX/CDT has decided to complement its IBDN product line with an automated cable management system that provides a complete standards based solution as well as a retrofit capability to the market.
