Neterion Inc. today announced that IBM System p products will feature its Neterion’s Xframe II Ethernet adapters designed to deliver the benefits of the PCI-X 2.0 Double Data Rate.
PCI-X 2.0 is an extension to the PCI Local Bus specification that facilitates connections to add-in cards for 10 Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Fiber Channel, Serial Attached SCSI, Serial ATA (SATA), 4X and 12x InfiniBand, RAID and cluster interconnects for servers and workstations.
This is the second line of enterprise class of IBM systems using Xframe II. In October 2005 IBM began using the company’s PCI-X 2.0-based adapters for its System x server line.
Founded in 2001, Neterion has locations in Ottawa and Cupertino, Calif. Xframe drivers are available for Microsoft Windows, Linux, HP-UX, IBM’s AIX, Sun’s Solaris and SGI’s Irix.
