The Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) and Digital Nova Scotia are working together to enhance opportunities for local companies to find national opportunities for growth.

The organizations have signed a cooperation agreement that encourages greater cross-promotion of events and activities and opens the door to partnership on regional initiatives. It also offers Digital Nova Scotia members a significant reduction on ITAC membership fees.

“We recognize the financial commitment companies make to Digital Nova Scotia as an investment in the development of the ICT industry,” said Karna Gupta, ITAC’s president and CEO. “For companies ready to participate in our national advocacy, procurement, trade and talent development efforts, we will discount the value of Digital Nova Scotia fees against ITAC membership.”

As the industry association for Nova Scotia’s fastest growing sector, Digital Nova Scotia welcomes the opportunity to partner with ITAC to showcase local success stories and initiatives in our region, said Ulrike Bahr-Gedalia, its president and CEO.

“This partnership is an opportunity to foster the growth of our member companies and to build our relationship with our national counterpart. Our aim is to help strengthen the ecosystem of support for digital businesses in Nova Scotia, so this new agreement is certainly assisting with that mission.”

ITAC will hold a national education event at Saint Mary’s University in June focused on post-secondary course development in support of ICT careers. ITAC’s Business Technology Management program is slated to be rolled out in 50 colleges and universities over the next three years.
