Globalive Wireless Management Corp. has completed Canada’s first Advanced Wireless Network (AWS) call, which the company says sets the stage for it to provide customers with a new mobile voice, data, video and messaging experience.
The AWS band uses microwave frequencies for enhanced voice, mobile data, video, and messaging services.
“The increasing demand for smart phones that we have seen in the past year clearly demonstrates that consumers are becoming more and more sophisticated in their daily use of mobile devices,” says Chris Robbins, the firm’s chief customer officer.

The company bills itself as Canada’s newest provider of wireless communications services.
