The LAN-lock and Interlock — two new outlets from RW Data — are designed to provide high levels of security for a variety of business applications.
The company’s LAN-Lock offers users an effective way to keep patch cords secure. The product offers two-part low profile casing, moulded from ABS. It will accept either UTP or FTP patch cords. These can be cable-tied inside the unit for additional security.
Available in three- or six-way sizes, the unit can be mounted on most surfaces and features a front-mounted, slide-in label strip for easy port identification.
Also new is the InterLock outlet — a product designed for LAN security that helps protect valuable data and provides a quick and effective method of controlling access.
This unit, used in conjunction with a standard RW Data single gang face plate, can be operational within minutes. To restrict access to a telephone point, a user can turn the key to the “off” position and remove it to ensure that unwanted calls or Internet sessions do not occur.
The InterLock RJ45 version is Category 5e compliant and can be utilized on ATM, Ethernet and Fast Ethernet networks or any LAN that includes the use of the orange cable pair within its 568B wiring schedule.
