Extreme Networks, Inc. today announced its membership within the newly formed Triple Play Alliance (TPA), an independent association of network equipment vendors, software vendors and service providers formed to speed up the worldwide adoption of triple play technology in carrier and enterprise networks.
To achieve this, the TPA has built the Triple Play Lab, a best-of-breed interoperability test and demonstration lab near Munich, Germany.
The lab, designed to serve as an international competence center for triple play technology, allows TPA members to test and demonstrate triple play scenarios in a real-world environment.
The group says its goal is promote deployment of triple play networks by helping both carrier and enterprise customers to gain a better understanding of the underlying technologies, interoperability and security requirements and business issues.
