Corning Inc. will be part of the ITU-T-sponsored FTTP Interoperability Showcase at SuperComm 2005 to be held next week in Chicago.
The ITU-T FTTP Pavilion will feature passive optical network (PON) equipment operating in accordance with the ITU-T G.983 and G.984 series of recommendations.
A total of 17 vendors will show B-PON interoperability, products for G-PON, optical distribution networks, testing and performance, and video service equipment and set-top boxes. G.983 and G.984 standardization demonstrates the maturity and reliability of products for FTTP applications, Corning said.
The FTTP Interoperability Showcase features an optical distribution network (ODN) with products from Corning’s Evolant Solutions for Access Networks with NexCor Fiber.
Both the broadband PON (B-PON) and Gigabit PON (G-PON) equipment with triple-play services will operate over the Corning ODN.
