Allstream announced today the signing of a contract with RBC Financial Group that involves an IP Dial/Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) service.
As part of the four-year, multi-million dollar contract, the company will work with RBC to migrate the bank’s 1,900 non-branch Automated Banking Machines (ABM) across Canada to an IP/MPLS network.
“This deployment will enable RBC to offer its customers faster service at its non-branch banking machines through Allstream’s IP Dial/MPLS solution,” said John MacDonald, president of Allstream.
“In addition, RBC will be able to seamlessly deploy more next generation applications and products through the ABMs in the future, as their business requires.”
Implementation of the deployment is currently underway and is expected to be completed by mid-2007.
