Saint John, New Brunswick – NBTel/Aliant Telecom Mobility has announced it has completed a cellular network expansion to beef up digital service to Grand Bay, outside of Saint John.
The new site will bring the benefit of digital service to more then 3,700 residents of the area, extending from Grand Bay to the Kingston Peninsula. The new digital cell site also provides enhanced services to travellers on the highway between Saint John and Fredericton.
Terry Finnigan, Director of Aliant Telecom Wireless, says customers will experience the next generation of cellular service that offers all of the benefits of traditional cellular service while incorporating many new features including enhanced privacy, better voice clarity, free call display and per second billing on select rate plans.
Another benefit of the service is its extended battery life. Ms. Finnegan says customers using a digital phone on the digital network can talk for up to three times as long as they would be able to with traditional cellular. In addition, customers in the digital serving area can now choose to access the Internet, their email and their Corporate LANs when using a Web/data capable digital cellular phone.
