Juniper Networks, Inc. has announced the completion of an agreement with Verizon in which its E-series routers will be deployed to support a variety of next-generation edge services.
The first phase of the new deployment will support Verizon’s “Enterprise Advance” initiative aimed at Fortune 1000 corporations, government, finance, education and healthcare entities.
Verizon selected Juniper Networks E-series for its ability to consolidate a wide range of IP-based services in a single platform over a variety of media including leased line, Frame Relay, ATM, DSL, Ethernet and wireless.
The E-series is an integrated platform that combines IP services capabilities with provider-class edge routing. Its flexible architecture will enable Verizon to deliver a host of value-added services such as secure Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) using multi-protocol label switching (MPLS), DSL aggregation, commercial wireless hot spots (WiFi) and Transparent LAN Service (TLS).
