Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42 Engineering Committee on Premises Telecommunications Cabling organized and held elections during the week of Feb. 2 for Committee TR-42 and for Subcommittees TR-42.2 Residential Telecommunications Infrastructure, TR-42.6 Telecommunications Infrastructure and Equipment Administration, and TR-42.8 Telecommunications Optical Fiber Cabling Systems.

Herb Congdon, Tyco Inc., was elected chair of TR-42 and Robert Jensen, Fluke Networks, as vice-chair. John Pryma, Genesis Cable Systems, was elected as chair of TR-42.2 and Tom Boucino, CommScope, as vice-chair. For TR-42.6, Steve Huffaker, JP Morgan Chase and Company, was designated as chair and Jonathan Jew, J&M Consultants, Inc., as vice-chair.

Jensen was elected as chair of TR-42.8 and Julie Roy, C2 Consultants, as vice-chair. TR-42 is responsible for commercial, industrial and residential cabling standards including telecommunications infrastructure administration, pathways and spaces, and copper and optical fiber systems requirements.

These standards include information and requirements necessary for implementing telecommunications infrastructure.
