Telus Corp. has been awarded a six-year, $66 million contract with The Co-operators.

Through the term of the agreement, the telco will provide Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) data services to more than 600 Co-operators locations, as well as an extensive portfolio of voice services.

“This will significantly enhance our network services,” said Kevin Hutchinson, vice-president Information Technology, The Co-operators.

“Effective application of state of the art technology will improve our network capacity, reliability and security. The outcome will be better, faster and more cost-efficient communication services to our agents, brokers and staff — giving them the tools they need to serve our clients today and into the future.”

Under the contract, TELUS will provide a suite of IT and communications services.

With assets of more than $5.7 billion, The Co-operators is a group of Canadian companies that specialize in insurance and financial security products, property development and management and investment counseling.
