Syndesis Ltd. announced today it has signed a contract with Telus Corp. in which its OSS software will become a foundation for the firm’s service fulfillment architecture and enable automated provisioning for broadband services.

Transparent LAN (TLAN) service activation will be the first deployment in the multi-phased project, automating the activation of Ethernet over ATM and FR-ATM services.

Phase two will see Syndesis enable flow-through provisioning for High-Speed Internet Access services over the carrier’s Metro Ethernet core network.

“We chose to invest in Activation systems to support rapid, consistent and reliable service provisioning,” said Ibrahim Gedeon, chief technology officer for Telus. “Activation systems support (our) Data/IP and growth strategies by accelerating network evolution and new service introduction.”

The Richmond Hill, Ont. operational support system software vendor has signed deals with more than 20 major service providers around the world including Telecom Italia SpA and Brazil Telecom.
