SMC Networks www.smc.com today announced the launch of the TigerAccess Extended Ethernet switch and TigerAccess Extended Ethernet CPE at Interop Las Vegas 2009.

Designed for multi-unit environments such as hotels and office buildings, the switch supports up to 24 ports of VDSL2 connectivity with data transfer speeds of up to 100 Mbps. Software features including Quality of Service (QoS) and IGMP ensure optimal support for advanced applications such as Video on Demand and other services of value in hospitality environments.

The TigerAccess Extended Ethernet CPE (Customer Premise Equipment), which is deployed at the customer end of the VDSL2 line, such as in a guest room or office, features a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port to connect to any PC or Macintosh with a 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX network interface card.
