Valerie Maguire, Global Sales Engineer for The Siemon Company, has been elected as Vice-Chair of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42 Telecommunications Cabling Systems Engineering Committee. 

 

TIA TR-42 and its 13 subcommittees develop standards for copper and optical fiber cabling infrastructure used in commercial, residential, and industrial buildings, as well as data centres. 

 

The Engineering Committee is responsible for the development of the ANSI/TIA-568-C family of standards, in addition to standards addressing copper and optical fiber cabling component (e.g. cables, connectors, and cable assemblies) performance, installation and field testing methods, and administration requirements.

 

Maguire has been serving in leadership positions of the TIA TR-42.7 Copper Cabling Systems Subcommittee since 2001.
