The Siemon Company today introduced a 10G 6A F/UTP version of its MapIT intelligent infrastructure management offering.

First launched in 2005, MapIT helps IT professionals manage their networks, improve documentation, enhance security, improve productivity and reduce downtime.

It utilizes a combination of software and specially designed, sensor-enabled connecting hardware to track any changes made to the physical layer and provides location information for any IP enabled device connected to the network.

The new version meets or exceeds all channel requirements dictated by the IEEE 802.3an standard, Siemon said in a release. It consists of a smaller diameter F/UTP cable and screened tool-less MAX modules as well as sensor-enabled MapIT patch panels and screened 10G 6A MC patch cords.
