Siemens Canada Ltd. has signed a major contract with William Osler Health Centre (WOHC) that will see the company provide technology products and expertise in areas ranging from health care and building automation to fire prevention, security, and communications.

The order, which includes Siemens’ Global Solutions, the health care consulting arm of the Medical Solutions Group, will involve MRI, CT, Angio, MI (Nuclear Medicine), Cathlab, Women’s Health, Urology, Radiography, RIS and PACS technologies.

The WOHC group of hospitals includes the existing Peel Memorial Hospital in Brampton, Ont., Etobicoke General Hospital in northwest Toronto and the Brampton Civic Hospital, which is scheduled to open this fall.

The 1.2 million square foot complex is expected to accommodate 90,000 emergency visits, 160,000 ambulatory care visits and 4,250 births each year.
