Bell Canada announced today that it is deploying a wireless infrastructure throughout the Scotia Plaza complex in downtown Toronto.

The wireless initiative includes public hotspots, enhanced cellular coverage throughout the complex and a wireless Local Area Network (LAN) providing connectivity options for workers.

“As a landlord, we’re constantly looking at how we can improve operations and better serve our tenants,” said Lois McPherson, Scotia Plaza General Manager. “Wireless access will improve our operations and enhance our productivity to the benefit of our tenants.”

The integrated wireless infrastructure allows tenants to benefit from a number of features including increased productivity for mobile workers through real time access to information; access to applications through any Wi-Fi-enabled device including a laptop, IP phone or PDA; and always-on cellular coverage in all areas of Scotia Plaza including elevators, parking levels, and other more remote corners of the building.
