Toronto-based Redline Communications Inc. line of Wi-Max products have been chosen by EgyNet for its broadband wireless networking Sharm el-Sheikh, the Sinai peninsula’s popular tourist region and world renowned scuba diving area.

EgyNet, the licensed tier one Internet Service Provider, was licensed to provide wireless internet services to the region through the WIESC (While In Egypt Stay Connected) program of the USAID (United States Agency for International Development).

The network is being designed to serve the more than 3.5 million tourists that visit the region each year, as well as local area businesses and residents. Plans calls for it to be expanded to cover more areas of the Sinai Peninsula in 2008.
