Toronto-based Redline Communications Group Inc., a provider of Wi-Max broadband wireless products, and Patapsco Communications, a telecom engineering company that designs and manufacturers IP systems for data applications, have signed a technology agreement.

The two companies said today they recently completed interoperability testing between Redline’s RedMAX Wi-Max products and Patapsco’s IP offerings as part of the Redline Ecosystem Verification (REV) program.

Patapsco’s products allow operators to map traditional TDM-based services over a managed IP network.

The interoperability testing verified that service providers can extend the reach of traditional service offerings via Redline’s Wi-Max networks to areas that are underserved by wireline infrastructure, the companies said in a release.

Patapsco joins several Wi-Max equipment, chipset and peripherals vendors that are now taking part in Redline’s REV program.
