Q9 Networks Inc., a provider of outsourced data centre infrastructure, today announced that its new Toronto data centre is open for business.

The $20 million facility, which has a capacity of 1,000 cabinet equivalents, is the first ofthree major initiatives.

The others include the opening of a second data centre in Calgary and expansion of an existing facility in Brampton, Ont.

Total cost of the three projects is expected to be $65 million.

The company’s data centres are equipped with redundant power and cooling systems and advanced fire protection.

Various security measures including video surveillance, 7×24 on-site security officers and biometric authentication systems protect each facility.
