A new information technology data centre in Guelph will help the Ontario government meet its current and future technology needs while supporting the city’s economy, Government Services minister Gerry Phillips said today.
Guelph is a vibrant city and a premier business location, Phillips said. This state-of-the-art IT centre will employ approximately 140 people and help make our technology resources more efficient, reliable and improve services for people right across Ontario.
The centre, which will be built on a 25-acre site, is part of the government’s plan to ensure its technology systems are robust, reliable and responsive to current and future needs.
The city was selected because of its hydro and telecommunications infrastructure and an ability to meet the government’s information technology needs.
