Nortel Networks Ltd. today introduced new VoIP packages that it says allow organizations to implement “advanced unified communications” faster than ever before.

Organization that previously did not have VoIP capabilities can now choose from multimedia services such as Web-enabled multimedia contact centres, unified messaging, presence and remote PC-based call management.

New customers have the option of selecting from VoIP packages using Nortel’s Communication Server 1000.

According to Nortel, each package contains a Unified Communications Starter Kit as well as the hardware and software necessary to get a location equipped with an IP telephony (IPT) system.
