Nokia Siemens Networks and Juniper Networks this week launched Carrier Ethernet Transport 3.0 (CET) at Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2011 in Amsterdam.

CET 3.0 provides a migration to packet-based transport networks by managing the surging demand for bandwidth from mobile backhaul, business and residential data traffic.

CET 3.0 has been enhanced with IP and Ethernet VPN service provisioning, end-to-end synchronization, extended interoperability with legacy mobile networks and global interconnect capabilities, the two companies said.

The offering also lowers total cost of ownership by up to 30%, and will be commercially available next month, they added.
