NEC Unified Solutions Inc. today released the Univerge Mobile Client, a set of applications designed to extend desktop telephony and messaging functionality to mobile devices.

The Mobile Client delivers access to the enterprise network as well as enhanced unified messaging capabilities such as instant messaging, presence, buddy lists, voice mail, corporate directory, click-to-call, call screening, caller ID with enterprise name, and one-button conferencing.

“The desire for enhanced communications that streamline voice and enterprise applications on a single mobile platform, has gained tremendous interest from the small-to-medium business to the enterprise, alike,” said Zeus Kerravala, senior vice president, Yankee Group.
