NEC Corp. today launched two new additions to its AM3100 Series MSAN (Multi -Service Access Node) product range the AM3110 and AM3160 broadband platforms enabling advanced service delivery.

The AM3110 and AM3160 allow deep fiber deployment with lower incremental cost, the company said.
According to Richard Hanscott, vice president of network solutions for NEC Europe, the design and implementation of Next Generation Network (NGN) technology is one of the most pressing issues facing telecommunications businesses today.

“As we enter the third wave of broadband development, flexibility is the key. Continued cost pressure on operators and higher subscriber bandwidths drive deeper fiber penetration, he said.

In order to survive, operators will need to reinvent themselves and their revenue structures in order to address industry challenges and meet the increasing demands of their customers.
