Mitel Networks Corp. today announced major enhancements to its enterprise IP communications platform.

Release 7 of the Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP) builds on the enterprise-grade scalability (65,000 concurrent users in a single cluster) and security features provided in Release 6.

Features include improved resilience with user feature transparency, redundant T1/E1/PRI connections, redundant hard drives and power supplies in distributed,centralized, hybrid, or hosted environments, native Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking and SIP networking capability to support remote gateways, and new applications with Live Business Gateway and mobility capabilities.

The company also released the 3300 Live Business Gateway (LBG), which provides integration between the 3300 ICP, legacy communications product, Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 and the Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 integrated communications client, as well as Release 10 of the Nupont Messenger IP Model 640.
