Juniper Networks, Inc. today announced that Legal Aid Ontario has deployed its Networks Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) platform, more than 175 Secure Services Gateway (SSG) firewall /VPN appliances, Secure Access SSL VPN appliances, and the NSM management product to secure its networked resources.

The move allows the agency to bring its more than 175 locations, 1,200 users, and over 4,000 outside private lawyers together under one private network, while improving operational efficiency and increasing network control, resulting in approximately $500,000 in annual savings.

Legal Aid Ontario serves thousands of people every day who would not otherwise receive legal assistance.

“We take our security seriously, and it is factored into any technology decision,” said Stan Yazhemsky, manager of IT operations at Legal Aid Ontario. “Now we are able to monitor and audit everything in real time, so we know if there’s a problem before the service provider does.”
