The International Institute of Telecommunications (IIT) has signed a partnership agreement with the Swedish based company APIS Training & Seminars U.S., Inc., a leader in technical training focusing on wireless telecom and mobile IP.
Montreal-based IIT is the first industrial training centre in the
country to offer a program in wireless communications covering all major industry standards. They include GPRS, EDGE, 3G/UMTS, CDMA2000, 1xEV-DO, WLAN and mobile positioning.
“This partnership strengthens the Institute’s position as an industry
centre for telecommunications and expands its products and services offering
in the area of wire telephony, optics/photonics and IP,” said Louis
Brunel, IIT President and CEO.
ITT was founded in 1999 by a group of Quebec executives in the telecommunications industry and academic world, with the support from the provincial government. It focuses on industrial training, R&D and technological services. The institute’s laboratory can accurately reproduce the “multiservice” networks used by telecommunications carriers, the company says.
