IBM Corp. today unveiled security hardware, software and services it says will help meet the security needs of the user, enterprise systems and the core of large-scale Internet Protocol (IP) carrier networks

The Telecom Core Infrastructure Security Solution monitors and manages both the health of network as well as the traffic itself, through a single, integrated system.

According to the company, as the telecom industry re-directs efforts toward launching and delivering IP-based services — telephone services over the Internet, Internet TV, push to talk and instant messaging — they have become particularly vulnerable to a new breed of attack, designed to cripple the key components and networks that deliver these new services.
