Hubbell Inc. and Superior Essex Inc. announced today that testing laboratory Intertek /ETL Semko has independently tested the Hubbell/Superior Essex 10G UTP cabling system to the latest 10 Gigabit TIA/EIA 568-B.2-10 Augmented Category 6, Draft 5.0 transmission performance requirements.

The copper-based cabling configuration consists of Hubbell Nextspeed Ascent 10 GbE connectivity and Superior Essex 10Gain cable. Compliance to this standard is imperative for optimal 10 Gigabit Ethernet system performance.

“We believe that independent testing is the best way for a customer to confirm the performance of a given cabling system,” said Hubbell spokesman Michael O’Connor.

Both companies are exhibiting this week at the BICSI Winter Conference in Orlando, Fla.
