Vancouver, British Columbia — fSona Communications, a manufacturer of Free Space Optical (FSO) wireless communications systems, has received a $10 million investment from Technology Partnerships Canada, a federal government agency.

“We’re very pleased by this recognition from the Canadian government,” said Theresa Carbonneau, president and CEO of fSONA. “Canada has a history of excellence in communications and our international team of laser communications professionals are proud to carry on that tradition.”

fSONA designs and manufactures the SONAbeam series of FSO wireless systems for delivering high-speed communications to carriers, service providers and enterprises.
The Technology Partnerships Canada investment will allow fSONA to further develop FSO solutions which, because of their license-free status, are marketed worldwide. The aim is to ensure that Canada maintains its leadership in the FSO high-speed wireless market.
