Members of the Fiber Optics Technology Consortium (FOTC) of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) will present a three-hour pre-conference seminar: Fiber Trends, Standards, Testing and Architectures – What You Really Should Know.

The seminar will be held on Monday, Sept. 16 at the Fall BICSI Conference in Las Vegas. Attendees will receive 3 BICSI CECs.

Presenting will be Rodney Casteel (CommScope), John Kamino (OFS), Craig Kegerise (TE Connectivity), David Eckell (Corning Cable Systems), Adrian Young (Fluke Networks) and Loni Le Van-Etter (3M).

The seminar will address current fiber optic trends, standards updates, the newest testing requirements and link loss budgets, and an overview of effective and efficient fiber-based architectures, including Passive Optical LANs.

“We are looking forward to presenting these topics at BICSI,” said Rodney Casteel, chair of the FOTC. “The breadth of our membership allows us to provide a balanced, vendor-neutral perspective on some of the hottest topics in the industry.”
