year number one has been.

The January 2000 issue marks the first anniversary of Cabling Systems magazine. As we proudly blow out one candle, it seems appropriate to reflect on just what we have accomplished during this past year — and what is on tap for the future.

Like all new publications trying to get off the ground, our first year was somewhat akin to a roller-coaster ride — we experienced the exhilarating ups, endured a few unforeseen curves and fastened our seatbelts in case of any precarious drops. Yet, not only did we weather this exhilarating trip, we came out on strong legs and are now gearing up to ride again.

I am pleased to report that our magazine has generated a great deal of interest in the Canadian structured cabling and telecommunications industry. And, in just one short year, it has grown in leaps and bounds to emerge as the market leader.

So, hats off to all of our devoted readers and supporters — your input, questions, comments, opinions and beefs have really helped us to design and shape this publication to best suit your needs. And, thank you to everyone else who worked so hard to help make our founding year so successful.

As part and parcel of this achievement, we will be increasing our publication frequency in 2000. Cabling Systems will now arrive on your desk eight times per year — an increase of two issues annually.

Along with the increased numbers, we will also be expanding our content. Keep an eye out for several new sections and departments that will appear over the coming months. These enhancements are designed to bring you the most timely and comprehensive news, feature articles and other information, and to ensure our publication is the most comprehensive resource for cabling professionals in Canada.

Having said that, we now look forward to 2000. It is a new year, a new millennium — and, most assuredly, another new journey for us. We anticipate this ride to be just as exciting as the last, and hope you will all retain your ticket stubs.

So, please keep your letters, emails and phone calls coming. Your input is just as important as ever. Besides, this kind of ride is always more fun when everyone is on board.
