Tyco International Ltd., Pembroke, Bermuda, has gained the Electronic OEM Business of Thomas & Betts, Memphis, TN — a unit that manufactures electronic connectors for the telecom, computer and automotive industries — for US$750 million.

The Electronic OEM Business includes: the Metallized Particle Interconnect group, which produces a high density material interconnect system; the General Professional Electronics group, which supplies PCB mounted electromechanical components; the Automotive group, which manufactures a variety of connectors; and the Mobile Communications group, an assembler of cellular phone battery packs, connectors and other devices.
