Tyco Electronics has unveiled a new unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) copper cable that it says exceeds the proposed requirements for Category 6.

The new AMP NETCONNECT Enhanced Category 6 (Cat 6E) cable incorporates a central “spline” that provides additional physical separation between the individual twisted copper wire pairs carried within the sheath. The cable provides greater than 10 dB margins over Category 6 requirements for NEXT and PSNEXT.
