Transition Networks Inc. Power over Ethernet (PoE) media converters are designed for applications where the electrical current to power each device needs to be carried by data cables rather than by power cords.

They combine data received over a fiber optic link with -48VD power providing power to Data Terminal Equipment Power Devices (PDs) over unshielded twisted pair cable.

Powered by universal 100-240 Volts, the converters can operate in two modes: IEEE 802.3af as well as legacy mode. In legacy mode, they can be configured for reverse polarity, 12 VDC, 24 VDC or 48 VDC power insertion as well as for other non-IEEE 802.3AF compatible PDs.
