Thomas & Betts Corp. says it has simplified the splicing of underground cables with the introduction of Blackburn Direct-Burial Splice Kits, which are UL-listed for direct burial and rated for 600 volts.

Available in two models –underground feeder (UF) and non-UF cables — both kits include an outer heat-shrink tubing insulator, which make them weatherproof and watertight for underground installation.

The UF Direct-Burial Splice kit features a four-in-one connector to support four-conductor, three-phase plus neutral and single-phase wiring systems in one device.

The kit for non-UF cable provides a high-conductivity splice for 600V-rated copper or aluminum conductors from 8 AWG to 2 AWG.
