Tempo, a manufacturer of instruments for installing and maintaining communications services, recently launched the 525N testing device.

Features include an Auto Test button that executes a bi-directional insertion loss test and displays an event table of measurement results in a matter of seconds, storage capability of over 1,500 measurements, optical power meter, rechargeable batteries and a 55dB measurement range.

According to the company, the 525N, which can be used in harsh environments, informs the user of the Pass/Fail condition of fibers tested based on user-set thresholds and then automatically assigns a fiber ID and saves the test record to internal memory. The process reduces the cost of automated cable acceptance testing.
