The 1250-M Free Space Optical (FSO) system from fSONA Communications, as well as the previously released 1250-S, provides wireless connectivity at either Fast (100/125 Mbps) or Gigabit (1,000/1,250 Mbps) Ethernet speeds over ranges of up to four kilometres.

The 1250 series also provides transmission 34 to 1,500 Mbps for numerous specialized applications. According to the company, the signal is fully regenerated and reclocked at all data rates in this range to ensure the highest possible signal integrity.

Its designed to provide backbone capacity for Wi-Fi networks – both for high-speed connections between nodes and to connect local Wi-Fi networks with the Internet.
