PIERRE BLOUIN APPOINTED CEO OF BCE EMERGIS
Michael J. Sabia, Chairman of the Board of BCE Emergis, has announced the appointment of Pierre Blouin as CEO and a director of the company.
Mr. Blouin has been with BCE for 18 years and is currently Executive VP at BCE and CEO of Bell Mobility.
Mr. Blouin replaces Brian Edwards, who has decided to step down from the company.
WIELAND EXPANDS TORONTO SALES FORCE
Wieland Electric Inc. of Oakville, ON, has added two new Technical Sales Representatives to its Toronto area sales team.
David Roberts brings more than 12 years experience in electrical/electronics sales to his position. Most recently, he was a Technical Applications Specialist in the GTA with Weidmuller Canada.
Brian Smith brings more than 20 years in technical sales and applications to Wieland. Most recently, he was recently employed as an automation specialist at a local electrical distributor in Toronto.
CYGNAL NAMES NEW SALES AND MARKETING LEADER
Cygnal Technologies Corporation’s Broadband Networks Group has appointed Debbie MacLeod as VP of Sales & Marketing.
Ms. MacLeod, an employee of the Oshawa-based company since 1993, will now be responsible for the day-to-day sales and marketing activities of the group, including its broadcast, telecom, cable television, utility and private network business sectors.
SCTE AWARDS SHAPP SCHOLARSHIP
The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), Exton, PA has named Ashvin K. Mysore the 2002 winner of the Milton Jerrold Shapp Memorial Scholarship.
Mysore, a senior at Fairview High School in Boulder, CO, was awarded the scholarship for demonstrating outstanding academic and personal achievement. He will receive the $20,000 scholarship over four years.
