COLLINS JOINS BICSI AS MASTER INSTRUCTOR
BICSI of Tampa, FL, has added Michael Collins, RCDD, CCDA, NCE of Houston, TX to its BICSI Master Instructor staff.
In his new position, Mr. Collins will provide technical content for new course development and instruct BICSI’s telecom design and installation curriculum.
Mr. Collins, a 26-year telecom industry veteran, was most recently president/principal consultant of Global Connect Consulting. He has previously held positions with Southwestern Bell Corporation (SBC) and Sorrento Networks.
ORTRONICS APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT
Ortronics Inc. of New London, CT has announced the appointment of Thomas A. Goetter as the new company president.
Mr. Goetter brings over 20 years of professional experience in sales, marketing, engineering and operations to his new position. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Goetter spent 13 years with Wiremold as VP of Engineering.
SCTE AWARDS PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT HONOURS
The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), Exton, PA recently announced the winners of its 2002 Personal Achievement Awards. The 2002 winners are Rich Annibaldi and Jim Kersnowski.
Mr. Annibaldi, director of technical research at Pioneer Research (USA) Inc. and a senior member of the Society, has represented Pioneer on various standards committees including SCTE’s Digital Video Subcommittee.
Mr. Kersnowski, VP of engineering at AOL Time Warner, has more than 28 years of experience in the cable telecommunications industry.
UNIQUE BROADBAND SYSTEMS APPOINTS CEO
Toronto’s Unique Broadband Systems, Inc. has appointed Gerald T. McGoey as its new CEO. Mr. McGoey will continue to serve as executive chairman of UBS’ Board of Directors, a position he has held since March of this year.
Mr. McGoey’s longstanding career in the telecom industry includes senior executive positions with Canada’s largest telecom companies. From 1994 to 1997, he was Chief Corporate Officer of Bell Canada. Prior to that, he served as Executive VP and CFO at BCE Inc.
UNITY WIRELESS MAKES CHANGES
Unity Wireless Corporation of Burnaby, BC has announced that Senior RF Design Manager, Nart Bajj, PhD has been promoted to VP of Engineering.
Prior to joining Unity Wireless in August 2001, Mr. Bajj held senior engineering positions with Norsat International Inc. and ADC Wireless. His new responsibilities will include management of the company’s engineering resources.
