BICSI ELECTS BOARD FOR 2002-2003

BICSI of Tampa, FL has announced the results of its annual Board of Directors election. The new officers will be installed at the telecom association’s winter conference in January 2002.

Newly elected directors are: President-elect Russell B. Oliver of CTC Communications, Waltham, MA; Treasurer Mel Lesperance of Ortronics, Inc., Tampa, FL; Region 1 Director Edward J. Donelan of Telecom Infrastructure Corp., Brewster, NY; Region 3 Director Albert L. Feaster of ADC, Minneapolis, MN; and Region 6 Director Carole El Zein of Anixter International, Roissy, France.

FRANK DUNN IS NEW NORTEL PRESIDENT

The Board of Directors of Nortel Networks Corp., Brampton, ON has announced that Frank A. Dunn, CFO, will succeed John A. Roth as president and CEO of the company.

Mr. Dunn has progressed through positions of increasing responsibility during his 25 years with Nortel. He has been involved in a variety of operational assignments across all the company’s major business units and has been an intimate part of developing operational strategies.

Mr. Roth, who has served as CEO since October 1997, and who announced in April his plans to step down, has agreed to serve as vice-chairman until the end of 2002.

SIGMA ADDS TO MANAGEMENT TEAM

Jeffrey Bernard has joined Toronto-based Sigma Systems as the company’s new VP of Global Marketing. In this role, Mr. Bernard will oversee all of the company’s marketing initiatives in North America and abroad.

Mr. Bernard brings more than 15 years of senior-level marketing experience to Sigma. He joins the company from Vigil Technologies, where he was VP of Marketing. Prior to his role at Vigil, he spent three years at Sun Microsystems.

ROGERS AT&T WIRELESS APPOINTS EXECUTIVE VP

Rogers AT&T Wireless, Toronto, has appointed Robert Bruce to the newly created position of Executive VP and Chief Marketing Officer. Mr. Bruce will also hold the title of president, Wireless Data Services.

Mr. Bruce will be responsible for all areas of marketing for Rogers AT&T Wireless, including market management, marketing communications and branding, corporate communications and overall program management.

Mr. Bruce brings several years of marketing expertise to his new position. Most recently, he was senior VP of Marketing at BCE Mobile Communications.

CORE EXPANDS EXECUTIVE TEAM

Core Networks Inc. of Halifax, a developer of activation and network management software for the cable broadband industry, has expanded its executive team.

Chris Fanjoy has become VP of Product Development. Mr. Fanjoy brings more than 15 years of software product development experience to the company, and was, most recently, with Market2 Software.

Steven Ladouceur has joined Core as VP of Client Solutions. A telecom industry veteran, Mr. Ladouceur was most recently Director of Technology of the Video over IP group at Leitch Technologies.

Paul Jewer has also joined the company as VP of Finance and Corporate Development. Mr. Jewer comes to Core from Quest Software, where he was the Controller of Canadian operations.

GT LOSES PRESIDENT, GAINS CHAIRMAN

Telecom provider GT Group Telecom Inc. of Toronto has announced that Robert G. Wolfe, the company’s president and COO, will leave at the end of the year to pursue other interests.

The company has also appointed Leo Hindery as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Hindery has an extensive background in the telecom industry. Most recently, he was chairman and CEO of GlobalCenter, Inc. and president and CEO of AT&T Broadband.

BELL ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVES

Bell Canada has announced that Guy Marier, formerly president of Bell Qubec, has been appointed Executive VP in charge of the company’s customer service and productivity improvement drives. Mr. Marier remains Chairman of the Board of Bell Canada subsidiaries Telebec, Northern Telephone and Connexim.

Jose Goulet will replace Mr. Marnier and become president of Bell Qubec, Ms. Goulet, formerly president of Bell ActiMedia, will become the company’s senior executive in Qubec.

Marc Tellier, the former Senior VP of Partnership Development at Bell Canada, will become president of Bell ActiMedia. Mr. Tellier was also previously the president of Sympatico-Lycos.

AVAYA MAKES SENIOR APPOINTMENT

Dan Millsap has joined Avaya as VP, Connectivity Solutions of Worldwide Sales.

Mr. Millsap has a broad background in sales, marketing, training and product management, in addition to experience in OEM markets.

He comes to the company from the Telecommunications Group of 3M Corp. where he was Senior Director of Sales-Americas, responsible for direct sales and sales through indirect channels.
