CAST YOUR VOTES
It is election time again and several positions on the Board of Directors will be up for grabs. The available positions are Region 2 Director, Region 4 Director and Region 5 Director. By the time you read this, the self-nomination forms will have been sent out. So now is your chance to get involved in this very worthwhile organization.
Will I run again? All I can say is you will have to wait to see the official candidate’s list.
Be sure to check the information on educational scholarships that was recently sent out to all Region 5 members. BICSI sponsors a $5000 scholarship for telecommunications education that is available to BICSI members and their families.
One scholarship will be awarded in each of BICSI’s six regions, in addition to one for members not residing within a region and one for the membership at-large. This means members in Region 5 have two chances at winning a scholarship. The deadline to apply is July 1, 2000; the winner will be chosen on July 15, 2000.
SITE GETS REDESIGN
BICSI’s web site has been redesigned with a handy new navigational tool for easy access. Check it out at www.bicsi.org.
If you have been thinking about adding the LAN Specialty to your RCDD, have a look at the new RCDD/LAN assessment guide on the site. This self-administered guide will show which areas you should study and which classes will best assist you in passing the LAN Specialty exam.
If there are legislative concerns regarding telecommunications in your province, post them on the Government Watchdog Forum. The forum lets you ask questions, voice concerns, and post messages on any aspect of telecommunications premises cabling.
