John Roth, President and CEO of Nortel Networks, Brampton, ON, has been awarded the New York Hall of Science’s Leadership Award for the Application of Technology to Telecommunications and Education.

The honour was awarded to Mr. Roth in a recent presentation by Ivan Seidenberg, Chairman and CEO of Bell Atlantic, and Chairman of the New York Hall of Science. Mr. Seidenberg praised Nortel for its sponsorship of engineering and computer science programs and scholarships at learning institutions around the world. He noted that the corporation’s investments in education help to ensure a steady supply of technically expert young people.

Located in Flushing Meadows’ Corona Park, the New York Hall of Science offers programs and activities for promoting science and technology to youth.
