Integrated communications provider (ICP) Norigen Communications Inc. has teamed with Cisco Systems Canada Co. to provide end-to-end converging voice and data services and network management to small- to medium-sized Canadian customers. In addition, Norigen has been certified as a Cisco-Powered Network provider.

In a recent news release, the two Toronto-based companies said the relationship highlights their mutual focus on the “new world convergence of voice and data.”

Norigen deploys Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)-ready capabilities directly to office buildings across the country. Under the Cisco-Powered Network program, the two companies say they can offer carrier-class Internet services and applications based on Cisco’s 6700 series of integrated access equipment. This will eliminate the need to run service through a local exchange carrier and decrease the potential of delays and “last-mile” delivery problems.
