Molex Premise Networks has launched a Cat 6 version of its intelligent connectivity system that provides IT managers with the ability to manage and monitor the physical network layer and associated hardware.

The company says its Real Time system is the only one of its kind, which can be retrofitted to legacy cabling systems as well as new installations.

The system, which consists of intelligent patch panels, patch cords, cable and physical layer management hardware and software, can be managed locally, remotely or via a web connections.

Modules that support Network Asset Management, diagnostics and mapping to MAC address level are also available.
