Mohawk, a manufacturer of fiber optic and copper cable products, recently released the redesigned GigaLAN 10 with a reduced outside diameter (OD) that the company says rivals Category 6A shielded cables.

The reduced OD offers flexibility and installation ease into conduit, and also allows increased conduit and tray capacity. The design also improves the product’s bend radius, which creates easier installation solutions for closets and work station outlets.

Designed specifically for 10GBASE-T applications, it is also fully backward compatible for 100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T applications

The cable exceeds specified component stipulations of the TIA Augmented Category 6 proposed standard.
