Tyco Electronics Corp. of Harrisburg, PA, has announced that it will acquire Laser Diode, Inc. (LDI) and incorporate the company into its Fiber Optic Division.

LDI serves the telecommunications, datacom, industrial, medical and military markets with a range of optoelectronic products. Tyco says the LDI products will complement its line of active products, such as its MT-RJ SFF/SFP transceivers.

According to Mike Robertson, LDI Sales and Marketing Manager, the combined product offerings will allow them to offer a complete package of active and passive products to the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) market.
